Samsung Galaxy S27 Gets BIS Certification, India Launch Looms
The Samsung Galaxy S27 is heading to India: model SM-S952B/DS has been added to the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) database, the first S27-family model to appear there. The listing shows no specs. Earlier certifications point to an Exynos 2700 chip, 12GB RAM and 25W charging. Samsung has not announced a launch date.
What does the BIS listing show?
The BIS record, dated 5 November 2026, is registered to Samsung India Electronics Private Limited and lists the models SM-K782B/DS and SM-S952B/DS together. The second is the Galaxy S27's model number. We could not identify the SM-K782B/DS from the listing. BIS entries carry no specifications, so everything below comes from earlier certification appearances of the same model number.

What do earlier certifications say about the Galaxy S27?
- NBD database: a 6.3-inch screen, the Exynos 2700 chipset, 12GB RAM and 256GB storage
- China's 3C certification: 25W wired charging
- UL Solutions: also lists 25W, which corroborates the 3C entry
Earlier rumours add a 50MP main camera with a Sony sensor, replacing the Samsung ISOCELL sensor of the current model, a 12MP selfie camera, and most likely the same 12MP ultrawide and 10MP telephoto cameras as before. These camera details are unconfirmed.

How does it compare with the Galaxy S26?
The Samsung Galaxy S26, announced on 25 February 2026, has a 6.3-inch display, a 4,300 mAh battery, 25W wired and 15W wireless charging, and a 50MP + 10MP 3x telephoto + 12MP ultrawide camera setup. Outside the US, Canada and China it uses the Exynos 2600, which has an Our Score of 96.74 in our database.
| Spec | Galaxy S26 | Galaxy S27 (certifications and rumours) |
|---|---|---|
| Display | 6.3 inches | 6.3 inches |
| Chipset | Exynos 2600 (most markets) | Exynos 2700 |
| Memory / storage | 12GB / 128GB to 512GB | 12GB / 256GB (listed) |
| Wired charging | 25W | 25W |
| Main camera | 50MP | 50MP, Sony sensor (rumoured) |
The charging speed is unchanged, which is a letdown for anyone hoping for faster top-ups, and a chipset bump looks like the main upgrade so far. That reading is ours. Our earlier story on the Galaxy S27 series leak covers the rest of the lineup, including the rumoured S27+ and S27 Pro.
When will the Galaxy S27 launch in India?
Samsung has not announced a date or pricing. BIS approval signals that an Indian launch is planned, but it does not set the timing. We would wait for official details before deciding, particularly if you are considering the S26 now. See more from Samsung in our database.
