What is the price and availability of the HP OmniBook 5 and ProBook 4 G2iS in India?

Some ProBook configurations can already be ordered on HP's online store.

What are the HP OmniBook 5 14 specifications?

The OmniBook 5 is aimed at students and everyday users. HP's launch announcement mentions chips up to Intel Core 7, but the models on HP's India store currently use the Intel Core 5 320: six cores and six threads at up to 4.6GHz, with an integrated NPU rated at 16 TOPS.

• Memory and storage: 8GB or 16GB of soldered LPDDR5 and a 512GB SSD
• Display: 14-inch OLED, 1920 x 1200, 16:10, 300 nits, 100% DCI-P3, Gorilla Glass 3, touch option
• Body: aluminium, 11.77mm thick, 1.16kg, 180-degree hinge
• Ports: two USB-C with DisplayPort, one HDMI 2.1
• Audio and camera: Poly Studio-tuned dual speakers with DTS Ultra, 1080p IR webcam
• Battery: 60Wh with a 65W USB-C GaN charger; HP claims 50% in about 30 minutes and up to 42 hours of local video playback
• Colours: Smoke Silver, Starlit Blue, Peony Pink and Soft Honeydew

Because the memory is soldered, we would pick a 16GB model if the budget allows. A 300-nit OLED panel also looks dim for bright rooms, so check it in person if you work near windows.

What are the HP ProBook 4 G2iS 14 specifications?

The ProBook is the business sibling, built for small businesses and hybrid workers. It uses up to an Intel Core 7 processor with an NPU of up to 17 TOPS and can be configured with up to 32GB of memory and a 1TB SSD.

• Display: 14-inch 2.8K OLED
• Body: aluminium, 12mm thick, from 1.18kg, MIL-STD durability certified
• Battery: 70Wh
• Camera: FHD HDR camera with IR sensor, dual microphones and AI noise reduction
• Security: physical camera shutter, HP Drive Lock and HP Secure Erase
• Colours: Mist Silver, Atmospheric Blue and Eclipse Grey

How do they compare with rivals?

At around ₹79,999 effective, the OmniBook 5 goes up against the Dell 14S, which also starts with the Intel Core 5 320. HP's edge is the OLED screen and a lighter body. Apple's MacBook Neo is another option at a similar price, which may suit iPhone owners.

The ProBook's main rival is the Lenovo ThinkPad E14 Gen 7, which starts at ₹1,33,990 but has less premium WUXGA IPS display options. We have not tested any of these laptops, so performance and battery claims above are HP's own figures.
